Ceremonies
At Alcott we don’t have a civil ceremony licence, but ceremonies take place with a Wedding Celebrant and they are stunning. You can have your ceremony in the great outdoors opposite the picturesque lakes, in between trees, in front of your chosen structure or inside the structure. Some couples have hired a separate yurt for their ceremony and then used the space later on for kids’ cinema room or chill out area.
What is a Celebrant led Wedding Ceremony?
A Celebrant will craft, write, personalise and tailor your ceremony to reflect your style and personalities.
It gives you the freedom to have a ceremony that is more in line with what you want as a couple, not abide by expectations, and not be driven by the limitations of a legal structure and content.
You can include guests, incorporate faith, embrace symbolic ritual & gestures, set the tone and make your day memorable for all of the right reasons.
Is a Celebrant led wedding legally binding?
Offering an unofficial ceremony on site with our renowned celebrant, or the flexibility to choose your own celebrant, personalisation is key. Due to the UK’S legalities that civil ceremonies need to be under a permanent structure, Alcott is not licensed; a registrar’s office will fulfil the legal side of the marriage for a small fee. This opens the door to a whole world of opportunities. If you would like something more formal, situated just outside the beautiful village of Alvechurch, there are many options for a church/ civil ceremony, allowing you to celebrate the perfect day with your nearest and dearest.
